I would say yes, unless it is mixed with a bigger dog. (taken from wiki) They are generally between 13 and 16 inches (33 and 41 cm) high at the withers and weigh between 18 and 35 lb (8.2 and 16 kg), with females being slightly smaller than males on average. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beagle

Not if it's mixed with a BIG dog like a Leonburger which can weigh up to 170lbs. If it's a pure breed beagle, then yes the beagle weighs WAY too much. A typical beagle weighs 20-30lbs... Females slightly smaller than males.

Yes extremely overweight! An average beagle ways between 18-30lbs, males weighing more typically. You need to consult a veterinarian immediately to put your dog on a safe diet. Being overweight can cause many different problems in dogs and I doubt you want to pay those vet bills when you could put him on a diet now before it's too late.

Only you can know that 50 pounds sounds heavy but if you can't feel his ribs and he does not have any curvature in his adominal area and is just round he is overweight a moderate would be able to feel ribs but not see them and not round

Unless it is the world's most gigantic beagle, it weighs WAY too much! Looking down from the top, the dog should have a noticeable waist. Running your hands along its sides you should be able to feel, but not see, the dog's ribs. If these things are not true with the dog, whatever the breed, the dog is too fat and its health and lifespan will be impacted.

That is MASSIVELY overweight. Like, near-death obese. Beagles typically weigh more around 20 or so pounds.

you can tell if your dog is at a healthy weight if you cannot see your dogs ribs when they are standing normal but you should be able to barely feel them if you run your hands on your dogs ribcage. judging by the fact that my German shepherd dog is 65-70pounds and almost full grown I am going to say that your dog is obese

Yes! That is an obese dog! Unless that dog is mixed with a larger breed. If not your dog is fat. They should only be 18lbs-35lbs
