I noticed that my cat's stomach is making really loud screeching, gurgling noises. A couple months ago, he had a urinary infection and almost died. I thought he was all better, though. He is about six years old. Should I be worried? is this connected to his urinary infection back in september? what should I do?

Tapeworms maybe, I'm imagining some sort of parasite or there is some sort of digestive issue in your cat's system. He might not be moving his bowels correctly!!!

Do you notice anything else different? If the cat is eating, drinking, and going number 1 and 2 normally then I wouldn't worry about it. If your cat is not doing some of these things normally call the vet and ask. " I agree with Bipetual try giving your cat some plain yogart for a possible upset stomach".

I wouldn't be overly concerned since everyone's stomach gurgles, but it is sort of unusual for it to be that loud. Maybe he ate something that isn't agreeing with him. I don't think it's related directly to the UTI, but the antibiotics may have killed off some of the good bacteria in his gut. That can cause stomach upsets sometimes. Try mixing some plain yogurt into his food, or buying acidophilus capsules at the drug store and sprinkling about half over his food for a week or so.
Have you gradually switched him over to a canned diet? I'm telling you this since your cat had a near-fatal urinary tract problem. Your vet may already have told you, but canned food has more meat in it, so it produces an acidic urine. This discourages bacterial growth in the digestive tract, and the extra water in the food helps dilute crystals and is healthier for the cat's kidneys. It's also easier for a cat to digest and might also make his tummy happier. Just don't switch all at once, or he'll really be sick. Do it over the course of a couple of weeks since he already has digestive problems.
If the gurgling continues, or gets worse, call your vet.
Good luck to you!
