My dog has eaten Kibbles n Bits off and on her whole life (shes 3). We just bought a new bag of some today and fed her some. All of a sudden (like 30 minutes later) out of the blue she starts seizing. She has never done this ever before. She had 3 totally today (very close together). We took her to the doctors (lot of help that was... ) But thats not the point. Im wondering if she could have been allergic to something new they put into the dog food or if it was a defective bag or... idk. Because its not like were completely changing her diet to KnB she has always eaten this. And she didnt hit her head or anything before this seizures. So all in all, has anyone ever heard of anything like this with the food causing seizures? Or am I looking at this at the wrong angle? Thank You!!!

it probably was not the food that caused the seizure, but it sure isn't helping. Take her to the vet as soon as possible- seizures can be very serious.

there could be a contaiminant in the food that is causing it.
Save the bag.. talk to your vet about maybe having an anylasis done on the food to see if that may be the cause.

Hey guys,
I know this is months old, but I just found it and for what it's worth, I think their may be a connection here.
We had a husky/sneaky neighbor dog mix and we fed her Old Roy for years and then switched to Kibbles and Bits. 4 months after we switched, she had her first severe seizure. She continued to have seizures about every 6 weeks. We took her to numerous vets and we got the standard answers, "we don't know" "she may have hit her head" "she may have gotten into toxins" "there's no way to know" etc... During this time, we got a pure Beagle and she started to have petite mal seizures as well. She started having seizures on a 10 week cycle. We started looking into what was in the house, was there mold, cleaners etc... We moved (not due to the seizures) and the seizures continued. The seizures in the mix breed lasted from Oct of '08 to August of '10 when she had a grand mal and her heart stopped. During this entire time, we fed her and the Beagle Kibbles and Bits.
When the mix died, the Beagle would not eat due to separation anxiety and we switched her to a canned food to coax her into eating again. Since then, she has not had a seizure.
I know it's not definitive proof, but there certainly is a hell of a coincidence.
