I would personally tell the truth.
IF your going to lie... boxer mix with boston terrier? (alot of people cant tell boxers from pit bulls)

all pit bulls are boxer mixes when it comes to landlords and insurance companies.

Boston Terrier/Boxer. And honestly, I don't see any other breed in her.
Really, though, you shouldn't have adopted a dog without your landlords permission :(

Are you not allowed to have a dog in your condo/apartment? If you are she looks more like a boston than a pit(Though I do see it). Just say a boston terrier mix. It's sad how people automatically judge on breeds. :-/ She's adorable by the way!

Yeah there is no getting around it. It has the wide, muscular skull of a pit bull. Why on earth would you get a pit bull, well-knowing it is not allowed. I would find your dog a new home by taking out an ad on craigslist and asking for a very small rehoming fee. Keeping a dog somewhere it is not allowed is unfair to the dog and you are gambling with its life. What if one day it is kicked out immediately and it goes to a shelter and will most likely be put down because of its breed? Be honest.

Chances are, your landlord doesn't know TOO much about dog breeds. Some people says that their Pit Bull mix is really a lab or boxer mix. Maybe you could say that your dog is a Boston Terrier/Lab mix or a Boston Terrier/Boxer mix. I personally think she more resembles a Boston Terrier than a Pit Bull anyways. So you could probably convince your landlord that she is not part Pit Bull.

? Agreed Boston mix don't even use the word pit or even say anything like well she looks pit but isn't. Steer away from the word pitbull totally, Good luck.

If you aren't sure what kind of a mix she is...I would just give a guess. You aren't lying because you don't actually know what she is. Even the DNA tests that are out there are not 100% accurate. Say she is a Boston/Lab mix. It's just as likely.
Honestly, and I don't mean this to be harsh, but you should have thought about this before you adopted her. Most shelters and rescues will not adopt to someone who is renting without written landlord approval for this very reason. The best thing you can do is just meet with your landlord and go from there.
EDIT: Saw your additional details. I understand hard situations. Things happen. Try to make the best of it now and work things out with the landlord. Maybe acknowledging you were at fault and just apologizing will do the trick.
She is awfully cute. I can see how that pretty face would draw you in. Do your best and hope it works.

She said she already has a pug, it seems dogs are allowed as long as they are known.
Honestly, how do you even know that she is definitely pit bull? I don't think you know for sure, or can anyone. All anyone can do is make an educated guess, she may not even be pit at all. She looks possibly like boston/boxer mix. I am not one for lying, but I really think it would be fine for you to say boston/boxer mix. Worst that can happen is he says "I think thats a pit bull" with no proof.
She is adorable though :P

You probably should have asked your landlord before getting the dog. In any case, let your landlord see how great of a dog she is, and he will understand. Haha, your dog is very cute. If I just saw the face I wouldn't understand what you meant by Pit bull, it's like someone took a Boston Terrier's head and put it on a pit bull's body. Very cute!

"I'm not really sure what kind of mix she is... She defiantly seems to have some Boston Terrier in her."
If necessary you can add:
"Maybe some Lab as well...?"
"Maybe some Boxer as well...?"
It all comes down to the same thing though- She's a mixed breed you adopted from a bad situation and you're not really sure what she is. You're not sure, there's no proof she's not part Boston and something else, and thus you're not lying.

I did not realize that a boston terrier and a pit could be so similar in appearance. But, do not even attempt to lie to the landlord, tell him she is a boston pit mix, but don't be surprised if he doesn't believe it. This dog looks so much like a pure bred pit, and it's weight is within the range of a pit bull. Sorry to say, but there is no way the landlord will not realize that this dog is part pit.
I suspect that the landlord found out about the dog from another neighbor who saw it and knew it was part pit and reported it.

You cannot hide the fact that she is a pit. Pit's have those markings as well as Bostons. You hid the dog because you knew. There are pet restrictions in most apartment insurance policies because of the lawsuits and liabilities.

If i were you i would say the rescue group i got her from said she was a Boston Terrier x
they didn't know exactly what she was x with- it could have been a staffy or it could have been a few different types of dogs over the generations. they weren't sure but they said she is almost completely boston terrier.
if he says is she part pitt say "i don't think so, i think they would have to tell me if they thought that and i am quite sure she's not, it could be staffy or something else" try to lead him to believe that a- you don't think she's part pitt and b-she is almost totally boston terrier.
if you're a good liar and lead him down the right path he won't mind at all.
i suggest before the landlord comes over though you take your dog for a big walk or run so that when the landlord comes she's placid and seems really lazy and sweet instead of over excited and destructive. don't mention you walked her though.
brush her too and get her looking good. make sure you vacuum so there is no dog hair around the house. the best thing you can do is show the landlord that you are taking good care of his property and that these dogs are not going to do it any harm- they are placid lazy dogs not energetic crazy ones. good luck!

Quite honestly, I don't see any pit in this dog. I've had pits my entire life. I get frustrated at how many shelters label dogs wrong. This is a Boston Terrier Mix, but I'd bet my next month's paychecks there isn't a lick of APBT in her. Stick with the Boston Terrier Mix, period. Don't mention pit bull because this pit bull junkie says there isn't a lick of it in her.

If she is full grown, I sure don't see any Boxer in that muzzle, nor does she look like a pit. As someone said, you have no way of knowing what her mix is so you wouldn't be wrong in saying that you don't know but from her markings you think some Boston Terrier. If you say pit or any kind of bulldog, you are asking for trouble. Also her size doesn't suggest pit mix unless she is just a puppy. It is best to never offer information. Let your landlord do the asking and answer as simply as you can without appearing to be evasive.
